Simple and easy Valentine’s Day family ideas and traditions to start this year
As you can tell we love to celebrate holidays around here! The littles ones always have a new holiday outfit to celebrate and we always try to participate in the holiday festivities. Valentine’s Day with little ones can be so fun! Here are some fun and easy ways to show them extra love on Cupid’s Day with Valentine’s Day family ideas :).
Leave them love notes
Use old faithful post-it notes and post reasons why you love them on their door. If you are feeling extra fancy use construction paper and cut out paper hearts to tape up. Either way, kids love seeing and hearing about how special they are.
Fancy Valentine’s Day dinner
Ask the kids to get dressed up (if you have some little princesses they will gladly agree to this 🙂 ). Make a nice family meal or serve your favorite fast food on some nice plates. Pull out a table cloth, fancy cups, and add a few candles. Plastic champagne flutes filled with milk or juice are always a hit in my home on a holiday. It will be a memory they will never forget and will likely as to do again even on a regular night.
Heart-shaped pizza and pancakes
For a more casual night make a heart-shaped pizza with your little ones. Let the kids help add the cheese and toppings. Or if Breakfast is more your thing make heart-shaped pancakes. Be sure to pick extra sweet treat toppings like powdered sugar, whipped cream, and strawberries. You can still make them feel extra special with the fun toppings.
Give them Valentine’s goodies
You can never go wrong with decorating the kitchen table by leaving chocolate, sweet treats, stuffed animals, flowers and a card to show them how much you love them. Gets them excited for the day and spread love to all their friends and family.
