Plan a productive week to eliminate stress
Eliminating stressors is huge when it comes to your sanity and being able to joy all the fun parts of being a mother. My most important tip is to plan out your week and determine what are your top priorities on your to-do list. Seeing it written down visually makes your goals seem more attainable.
Planning out my week with a daily or weekly planner is key. List out all appointments, kids activities and must dos for the week. Plan out all dinners ahead of time, less stress of what to make for dinner and you will be able to plan ahead and use all items in your frig.
Get a notepad to write out your top to dos for the week. Include dinners and any other events for the week. Leave it out in a public space to see throughout the week, cross out when its done.
Let go of perfection and comparison
We all want to be the a super hero Mom. Giving our kids the best of us is all we want to do. Trying to do everything will only lead to you burning out and being the opposite of a good mom. When you stop comparing yourself to others on Pinterest and other social media accounts you will see what strengths and qualtities that make you an exceptional mom.
Stressing over making sure everything is just right and perfect with your family will wear you down and your make your kids feel the stress too. Are you a good crafter or maybe an outdoorsy mom? Realize what you are good at and that will make you a happier mom.
Go through all of your social media accounts and unfollow any accounts don’t that bring you joy or are helpful and usefully to your life.
Less is more
Decluttering your space is so freeing. The less things causing cluttering and chaos in your home the better. Go through the kids toys they don’t use any more and donate. Switch out and pack up kids clothes that don’t fit anymore.
The sooner you realize that kids don’t need all the latest toys or electornics the more personal connection you will make with your family. The clearer your space is the clearer and more focused your mind will be.
Make a plan to tackle and declutter a room. Dedicate your week to clean one room at a time. Donate and trash anything you don’t use or need anymore.
Outsource and accept help
Everyone needs help. There is no way you do it all as much as you think and want too. Learn to accept help when offered. Family and friends are more than wiling to help so let them. Even ask your kids to step and help out around the house.
Outsource when possible. Now a days there are so many services available from grocery delivery/pick up, Target drive thru, laundry pick ups, meal delivery services like HelloFresh, home cleaning services, etc. If you are able to outsource any of the less desirable household chores then do it! Frees up time to spend more quality time with you family.
Sign up for delivery services like Instacart, grocery pick ups, and laundry services. Hire a cleaning group to come once a month to help with those deep cleaning chores.
Easy ways to feel more than just a Mom
Self care is not a luxury for mamas it is hear me loud and clear a necessity. Taking quiet time to calm your mind after a busy morning or day is needed. Go for a walk, treat your self to a errand run alone, a bubble bath, or call an old friend. Getting dressed for the day (other than leggings) and some make up that makes you feel good is a great mood pick me up. *Here is my 5 minute busy Mom beauty routine. Simple and easy to put on your face in the morning.
Self care isn’t just about pampering but it also includes making sure you fuel your body with healthy foods and exercise. Finding a hobby that keeps you excited and makes you happy is also another form of self care. Keeping up these habits will certainly result in a happy mind, body, and soul.
Block out at least 30 minutes a day to plan something for yourself. Clear your head and do something that brings you joy.
