Looking back on the year of 2021 and forward to 2022 with a Life Lately update.
Happy New Year! Hello 2022!!! The past year was another crazy year of pandemic living but filled with more time spent trying new things and finally spending more time with family. Here is a look at what has been going on with our family and what I am looking forward to in the upcoming year.
Happy Holidays
School has been going great for the girls. They really enjoy being back in the classroom and making new friends. Winter break rolled around mid December and we started enjoying all the Holiday festivities. Every Christmas season we try to attend one holiday family event. This year we saw the Charlotte Children’s Ballet Nutcracker. We had so much fun getting dressed up, having lunch uptown and watching Clara and the rest of the cast in a wonderful ballet. (Although as you can see below sometimes toddlers don’t want to cooperate for photos š )
Christmastime
Winter break started and we will super excited to celebrate Christmas. I made a point to order and shop early this year. Luckily we didn’t have any issues with supply shortages or delays. yay! Past years I’ve waited until the last minute to wrap and prep for Christmas morning. This year I made an effort to knock out some of those tasks ahead of time to help alleviate any last minute stress.
Santa came Christmas morning and we were up earlyyyy to see what goodies he left. It was just the 4 of us and it was so nice soaking in all the special memories. This year Santa left some new dolls for the girls and it was so fun to see their excitement when they opened their gifts.
Good bye 2021!
After Christmas came and left we all need a couple of chill out and do nothing days. I’m pretty sure for two days straight we relaxed at home in our pajamas and watched Disney plus all day. It was just what we all needed after the hustle and bustle leading up to Christmas.
My mid week the weather was warming up and hitting record highs so we decided to throw everything and everyone in the car and head to the beach for New Years. The coast was beautiful and the girls even got to run around in summer clothes. Usually we have a big group all celebrating NYE but this year it was just us. It was the perfect low key little family getaway. š
Hello 2022!
This year I didn’t make any specific resolutions. Cleary 2021 was another rough year of navigating through another year of the pandemic. It has had it’s highs, like both kids being back in the classroom full time and being able to safely see family and friends with the help of vaccine roll outs. It still has that overhanging cloud of anxiety, nervousness, and am I doing the right thing?
As I post this we are only 13 days into 2022 and it’s not looking any better. Hence why I did not make any drastic resolutions this year. Like each new year I always want to start eating healthier and workout more. Basically make sure to take care of myself. As for the family, I want make sure the kids are happy, healthy, and that we spend more time together. This year we are just trying to survive š
Cheers to the New Year
So here is to 2022! My resolution is to just keep rolling with the punches. We keep doing the best we can with what each day brings. Find joy in the little moments in the day and not beat myself up if we have a bad day. I will try again tomorrow! Wishing you all health, wealth, and prosperity in this upcoming year!
