Since we are spending so much time at the beach, pool, lake etc I thought I’d share my beach and pool bag essentials. These are the items I use daily and some I’ve heard from other Moms that they find super helpful with their kids.
One: life jacket vest // Two: Blue Lizard mineral sunscreen // Three: goggles // Four: wet hair brush // Five: sunscreen mineral stick // Six: women’s sunglasses // Seven: beach hat // Eight: waterproof wet bags // Nine: bogg beach bog // Ten: kids sunglasses // Eleven: pool and beach shampoo // Twelve: diving rings // Thirteen: kids hooded towel // Fourteen: beach towel // Fifteen: women’s coverup // Sixteen: lip balm sunscreen // Seventeen: shark pool toy // Eighteen: kids flip flops // Nineteen: kids sunglasses
My must have Beach and Pool Bag essentials
One: life jacket vest At the beginning of the summer my kids were rusty on their swimming skills. This life vest was a great way to reintroduce them to the water. I like that their arms are free to move and not restricted like in a puddle jumper. I feel like it will help them to learn the correct way to swim and not rely on the arm floaty part.
Two: Blue Lizard mineral sunscreen Our favorite sunscreen! It’s a pool bag essential for sure. Our pediatrician recommended this brand since it is mineral based. I use it for myself. It does a great thick layer! I buy in multi packs for the car, backyard, and pool.
Three: goggles If you have kids who could live in the water all day goggles are a definite must for your pool bag. Keeps little one’s eyes protected.
Four: wet hair brush This is the ONLY brush my girls will let me use on them. It’s gentle on tangles and works even better with your favorite detangler spray. Again I buy multiple travel sizes of this brand and stash all over the house, cars, my purse, and pool bag.
Five: sunscreen mineral stick I’ve found that sunscreen sticks work best for faces. I am less likely to get it into their eyes. Also great for when you need to re apply mid swim. Again this is mineral based and easy for my young kids to use on themselves.
Six: women’s sunglasses I love these sunnies and bought various color ways. At the low price point it’s no big deal if they get tossed in a pool bag or fall off in the pool or get sandy at the beach. Also if you misplace them you can easier order a new pair.
Seven: beach hat This is my favorite beach hat. It is packable (its been shoved in numerous suitcases and my beach bag) and still comes out looking good. Comes in lost of different colors.
Eight: waterproof wet bags Wet bags are great when you are on the go and need kids to rinse off before you head to the next stop of your day. Throw the kids wet suits in these and carry on with your day. The rest of your items in your bag will stay dry.
Nine: bogg beach bog I have been eying this bag all summer. It comes highly recommended from other Moms. Easy to store lots of items and can be hosed off when needed.
Ten: kids sunglasses No one wants a whiny kids who is complaining about the sun in their eyes. These cute sunglasses are perfect for your little lady.
Eleven: pool and beach shampoo If you have any blonde hair kids this is what has worked for getting chlorine out of their hair. We quickly discovered we needed it by seeing their hair turn green.
Twelve: diving rings Toys for the bigger kids. These are easy and simple and keeps them busy.
Thirteen: kids hooded towel These towels are great for babies and toddlers. Mine love the hood and helps dry them off quickly. Best part is if you need to walk to the car the hood helps keep their towel on while in the parking lot.
Fourteen: beach towel Big kids and adult towels. Always a beach and pool bag essentials. I don’t buy anything fancy since they get dirty or lost by the end of the summer.
Fifteen: women’s coverup Target has some super cute and breezy cover ups this summer. Light weight and good coverage. Also easy to wash. This one is my favorite and I own in white.
Sixteen: lip balm sunscreen Aquaphor is great for so many things. We have been using it since the newborn phase. These little tubes are great to help protect lips from the sun.
Seventeen: shark pool toy This little toy is good for toddlers. The fish float and you have to scoop them up. Just remember to label all the pieces! I’ve seen numerous kids have this same toy.
Eighteen: kids flip flops These $4 flip flops are good for the pool. We keep them in our car so the kids can just hop in the car and throw them on when we get to the pool. When at the beach they are easy to wash off any sand.
Nineteen: kids sunglasses Again here are some more great sunglass options for kids.
I hope this list helped! We spend lots of time out at the beach or at the pool and these are things are truly my go to items ( plus lots of water and snacks!). I’d love to hear if you also have any favorites or can recommend something not on this list! Happy Summer Days to you all!
