You have come to the right place to find super easy toddler crafts and activities. These crafts include lots of items you probably already have laying around the house and aren’t overly complicated. These will beat your kids boredom any day.
If you try any of the below crafts let me know what was your favorite. I’d love to see your kiddos final masterpieces too!
We completed all of the crafts while in quarantine. Preschool closed in March and we were in 2020 lockdown (partially still are … ugh) and now we are doing Virtual/Remote learning from home. So we still have lots of family time at home.
Easy Crafts for Toddlers
Salt dough family memory : This dough was so easy to mix with ingredients we already had on hand at home. We thought it would be fun to make a memory of family time at home during quarantine. * Tip: Start early/mid morning, it takes several hours to bake in the oven. Only do this if you plan on being home most of the day.
Marbled shaving cream painting : my kiddos current favorite. 3 items is all you need (shaving cream, food coloring, and heavy weight paper). We cut smaller pieces of paper and used cake pans to hold the shaving cream. Once colors get muddy I suggest you toss and start over with new cream and dye. We’ve mailed off some of these pieces of art to friends and family.
Marbling with oil and food coloring art : Another 3 ingredient craft with items in your kitchen. The process is very similar to shaving cream art. This one gets messy though. The oil can end up everywhere and can be a pain to clean so make sure you are prepared for the possible mess.
Sidewalk chalk paint : My kiddos love doing chalk and were getting bored with the regular chalk pieces. We found this outdoor activity and gave it a try. My kids insisted on making the paint themselves so they did end up with food coloring all over them. Just a heads up. It was hard to get precise lines but they still loved painting the driveway.
Pinecone bird feeder : If you don’t have pine cones laying around now this could easily be done with a toilet paper roll. We loved watching the birds come stop by for snacks during the day.
Bubble foam water table : Adding dish soap is probably the easiest thing you can do to switch up typical water play. My kids were getting bored of the same old same games at their water table. I came across this post and thought it was genius. We didn’t even add the food coloring, just the hose and dish soap and it was a huge hit. If you have little ones who may put the soap in their mouths I’d stick to baby bath bubbles.
Coffee filter tie dye art : This is my favorite craft because it can be an independent craft for those 5 and up ! YAY simply color the coffee filters with markers and then run a gentle stream of water over it from the sink and watch the colors move and mix together.
